Process

This process is:

  • participatory: from the initial phase of the process – the situational analysis – up to its implementation, close consultation with representative groups who are concerned by the issue is regarded as crucial. During the many workshops and meetings held between October 2008 and January 2009, the participants discussed problems they had been confronted with and the solutions/actions they had found or envisaged. The most recent workshops, held in 2011/2012, dealt with how to respond when FGM is reported.
  • systemic: when analysing situations or developing activities, all factors relevant to the issue (actors, behaviours and determinants) as well as the complexity of their interactions are taken into account.
